Infectious diseases physician

The service is overseen by Dr Kasha Singh (infectious Diseases consultant, Victorian Infectious Diseases Service, Royal Melbourne Hospital).

SERVICES

Dr Singh works at Utopia once every 3 months and provides a comprehensive infectious diseases service including management of latent TB, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV.

Dr Singh is assisted by the S100 Utopia GPs who may see patients in between Dr Singh's visits. 

 

GP referral is required for this service. Please note, your referral will be triaged and will accordingly be allocated to Dr Singh or one of our three S100 GPs

ELIGIBILITY

All Medicare card holders can access this service, regardless of whether they are a refugee or asylum seeker. Note, non-healthcare card holders who are not refugees or asylum seekers may incur an out-of-pocket cost for this service. please check with our practice manager​

Child health
(Paediatric Clinic)

Werribee Mercy Hospital outreach service

This service is led by Dr Dan Mason (community paediatrician).

SERVICES

Werribee Mercy provides social workers and counsellor at Utopia for children and adolescents.

​ 

The paediatric clinic runs once a month at Utopia.

ELIGIBILITY

This service is open to all refugee and asylum seeker children. A Medicare card is not required for this service.

Liver clinic

Hepatology (Liver clinic - investigation of abnormal liver function tests, treatment of cirrhosis, hepatitis B and C, autoimmune liver disease, liver disease due to alcohol and some general gastroenterology consults)​

SERVICES

This service is provided by Dr Zina Valaydon (consultant hepatologist) who is affiliated with Western Health and with St Vincent's Private.

​ 

Dr Valaydon works at Utopia once a month is providing a telehealth service in conjunction with the Utopia GPs.

ELIGIBILITY

This service is open only to refugees and asylum seekers who also see a GP at Utopia. To Access this service, please make an appointment with a Utopia GP who will assess your eligibility and refer you on to Dr Valaydon. Medicare card is not required for this service.

Dermatology

general dermatology and hair loss

SERVICES

This service is provided by Dr Bevin Bhoyrul from Sinclair Dermatology.

​ 

Dr Bhoyrul provides this service once a month via telehealth in conjunction with the Utopia GPs.

ELIGIBILITY

This service is open only to refugees and asylum seekers who also see a GP at Utopia. To Access this service, please make an appointment with a Utopia GP who will assess your eligibility and refer you on to Dr Bhoyrul. A Medicare card is not required for this service.
