Integrated care: Closer collaboration between primary and secondary care

Dr Mariam Tokhi
Dr Dan Mason

Utopia operates a child and adolescent health clinic for refugee children with complex developmental and mental health conditions. Our aim is to provide culturally-safe, high-quality care in the community thus reducing the costs to our health system by keeping children out of hospital. Dr Mariam Tokhi (GP at

Utopia) and Dr Dan Mason (paediatrician at Utopia and at Werribee Mercy) presented our model at the grand round at the Royal Children's Hospital. I would also like to thank Dr Kathy McMahon from Werribee Mercy Hosptial who helped in getting this project off the ground. Check out Mariam and Dan's talk here.
