In my capacity as medical director at Utopia, I have just returned from a conference where I presented a paper I authored on the model of care at Utopia. Utopia is now in it's sixth year. We started in 2019 with 2 GPs, 2 nurses and 2 receptionists with a vision to create a model of primary healthcare to address the contemporary challenges in primary care.

Utopia is unique in that it replicates elements of the community health model, but in the private sector. What we have been striving for is world-class care for refugees and reducing inefficiencies.
This journal article describes the model, the design and the challenges. The full article is available from CSIRO publishing via your institutional login, or you can send me an email on info@utopiarefugeehealth.com for a copy of the full text.
