Medical Services (GPs)

Bulk-billed medical services are provided to refugees and asylum seekers by GPs who experienced in refugee health. We offer long appointments and will always have an interpreter present during the consult.

General Practice services include:

  • Newly arrived refugee health assessments

  • Catch-up vaccinations

  • Medical documentation to support Centrelink applications

  • Case conferencing with AMES, Foundation House and other organisations which provide refugee services

  • Management of refugee health issues such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV management, latent tuberculosis and post-traumatic stress disorder

  • Medical termination of pregnancy 

Services users need to meet one of of the following eligibility criteria for bulk-billed services:

  • Individuals, who self-identify as refugees, with a Medicare care

  • Asylum seekers who are able to provide visa documentation

  • Partners and children of the above
